10h : Juliette Blé "Background Characterization in Cryogenic Calorimeters for Rare Event Search Experiments"

Abstract:

Cryogenic calorimeters are well suited for rare-event searches at low energies. Among their applications, we can mention the measurement of Coherent Elastic Neutrino–Nucleus Scattering (CENNS) with the Ricochet experiment at the ILL, as well as direct Dark Matter (DM) searches in Modane Underground Laboratory (LSM) with TESSERACT.

Although these experiments have different scientific goals, they share similar experimental challenges. Both require ultra-low energy thresholds, exquisite energy resolution, and efficient discrimination between signal and background, achieved using cryogenic germanium semiconductor detectors. In addition, background mitigation strategies are essential. 

In this presentation, I will discuss my PhD research activities. I will detail the radiogenic simulations performed to assess the full radiogenic background budget expected for Tesseract, as well as data analysis conducted within Ricochet to improve background rejection.

Resumé:

"Le modèle à 2 doublets de Higgs est une extension simple mais riche du modèle standard de la physique des particules. Celui-ci permet d'explorer de nouvelles structures de symétrie ainsi que de nouveaux mécanismes amenant à la masse des particules.

Nous discuterons en particulier de l’intérêt d'un formalisme invariant de jauge ,de son extension au potentiel effectif, ainsi que des ses implications, par exemple dans le cadre d'une brisure spontanée de symétrie induite par le mécanisme de Gildener-Weinberg."
