[colloque] The GBAR Experiment: measuring the effect of gravity on antimatter

The only source of antiprotons presently in use is located at CERN. They are decelerated in order to be trapped or to form anti atoms. After an overview of the experiments located in the hall of the antiproton decelerator (AD) at CERN, I will present the principle, the techniques and the status of the GBAR experiment whose aim is to measure the effect of Earth’s gravity on anti hydrogen atoms, thus testing the equivalence principle with antimatter in a direct way. --------------------- La seule source d’antiprotons actuellement en service se trouve au CERN. Ceux-ci sont décélérés afin de les piéger ou de former des anti atomes. Après un tour d’horizon des différentes expériences situées dans le hall du décélérateur d’antiprotons (AD) du CERN, je présenterai le principe, les techniques et l’état d’avancement de l’expérience GBAR dont le but et de mesurer l’effet de la gravité terrestre sur des atomes d’antihydrogène, testant ainsi le principe d’équivalence avec de l’antimatière de façon directe.
