Seminar : Galaxy cluster validation for the Euclid mission
by
In this talk I will present the results of Euclid’s galaxy cluster pipeline on the first Euclid data, known as the Q1 (“Quick Release 1"), comprising 50 deg2 with significant overlap with multi wavelength surveys. I will describe the key properties of the input galaxy catalogues, the cluster detection methodology, and characterisation of Euclid’s detected galaxy clusters in the three Q1 fields. I will conclude with an outlook towards the Data Release 1 cluster catalogue which will be used for the cosmological analysis, with an aim to significantly improve the constraining power on the growth of structure and dark energy parameters from optically-selected samples of clusters, leaping beyond the current state-of-the-art estimates from surveys such as DES, HSC and KiDS.
