Description
A harmonic-space maximum-entropy method (MEM) is described for separation the emission from different physical components in CMB observations. The method can be used to extract CMB, synchrotron, thermal dust, free-free emission as well as thermal Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (SZ) effects from galaxy clusters. This approach can be applied for all-sky multi-frequency observations, like WMAP and Planck. However, the method is rather general, and can be used for any multi-frequency data with known noise properties and point spread functions.
