Description
In the first part of my talk, I will discuss a novel method for extracting the electric polarizability of charged hadrons from background electric fields. For spin 1/2 hadrons, this method further allows for the determination of the magnetic moments, essential to describing their relativistic propagation in a background electric field.
In the second part of my talk, I will discuss recent efforts in computing meson-meson, meson-baryon, baryon-baryon and many-meson (n< 13) interactions with lattice QCD. In the case of meson-meson interactions, lattice QCD is now a precision tool. In the case of baryon-baryon interactions, there are still severe systematics which must be overcome to make contact with experiment.
