In my talk, first, I give a brief historical introduction to the multidimensional Kaluza-Klein theory. Then I review some of the problematic aspects of these models. In particular, up to now there is no evidence for the existence of the KK particles (which are excitations of fields in the given internal space) in the LHC experiments. I present a possible explanation of this problem.
