The knowledge of the fundamental parameters at high energies are
essential for the reconstruction of the theory beyond the Standard Model.
In this talk, we report on the consistent evaluation of the strong coupling
\alpha_s at high energies from its value at M_Z, working within the
Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. The level of precision necessary
on the theory side to match with the current experimental accuracy of
\alpha_s(M_Z) is at three-loop order in perturbation theory.
Accordingly, three-loop Renormalization Group Equations and two-loop
heavy particle threshold effects have to taken into account.
