Bouncing Universes in Loop Quantum Cosmology - E. Wilson-Ewing

I will review the foundations of loop quantum cosmology and show how the big-bang singularity is replaced by a bounce when loop quantum gravity effects are included. I will then explain how perturbations can be included in loop quantum cosmology and use this result to demonstrate how perturbations from a pre-bounce epoch of the universe can travel through the bounce and seed the fluctuations observed today in the cosmic microwave background.
