Workshop venue

The workshop will take place in Minatec, 3 Parvis Louis Néel, Grenoble (link to Google map). The train station is 5 minutes away from MINATEC, either by foot, by car or by tramway (two stations away - station "Cite internationale" on the B line).

Shuttle bus from CERN

 

A shuttle bus will be organised, leaving CERN at 17h30 on Sunday April 10th and returning from Grenoble on Friday April 15th with a departure at 18h00. The shuttle is only for participants who have booked it during registration (as the shuttle is fully booked!). The meeting point will be in the visitor parking just in front of the CERN reception, outside the secured area (also known as the "Parking of the Flags") - see the map here: https://goo.gl/maps/W9kKR9u1pWy . The bus will depart at 17h30, so be there at 17h15 at the latest.
 

Coming to Grenoble if you are not taking the shuttle

By plane

Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS)

The Lyon Saint Exupery International Airport (LYS) is the most convenient way to come to Grenoble.

Regular buses ensure the connections Grenoble-Saint-Exupery Airport and Saint-Exupery Airport-Grenoble.

Arrival/Departure : Grenoble bus station (next to the Grenoble train station). The transfer to Grenoble takes 1 hour.
 

Geneva International Airport (GVA)

Depending on your country of departure, the Geneva International Airport can be a more convenient alternative to the LYS airport. The AEROCAR shuttle bus can drive you directly to the Grenoble bus station (next to the Grenoble train station). The travel duration is 2h15. Please note that you need a valid Swiss visa to use that option.

Alternatively, you can take the train :
Four trains per day (duration of the trip : two hours).

By train

If you are arriving by train : SNCF

TGV Paris-Grenoble (No-stop trains)

  • Departure Paris-Gare de Lyon railway station - Journey time : three hours
  • Departure Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport, TGV station - Journey time : three hours fifteen

And also : TGV LIlle-Grenoble, Marseille-Grenoble

 


By car

From Chambéry or Geneva via motorway n°A41 : take the Rocade Sud (South loop) towards «Lyon par l’autoroute» (Lyon via motorway). Exit at Europole and follow the «Polygone scientifique» (Scientific campus» signs. (Exit n°2).

From Lyon, Valence, Marseille via motorway n° A48 : Take exit n°16 and follow «Polygone scientifique» (Scientific campus).
