We are pleased to announce the next edition of the IMORN series: IMORN-33, the 33rd International Meeting on Reactor Noise, will be held at CNRS/LPSC Grenoble, France, from the 6th-8th of July 2026

In the continuation of IMORN-30 in Chalmers University, Sweden, IMORN-31 in Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, and IMORN-32 in Cambridge, United Kingdom

The meeting will focus on recent advances in reactor noise analysis and its applications in nuclear reactors. The organisers welcome attendees to present their work on the theory and application of these techniques. The event is intended to be informal and encourage discussion among participants. The meeting will feature technical sessions of presentations and panel discussions. 
As previous IMORN meetings, this event will bring together experts, researchers, nuclear engineers, NPP personnel, university educators and students from across the nuclear science and engineering community, as well as welcoming new entrants to the growing field of reactor noise analysis.

Attendees to the conference are encouraged to submit a title for an oral presentation. 

Some example topics of interest include:

  • The theory of neutron noise applied to nuclear reactors and non-proliferation.
  • Numerical techniques in neutron noise analysis: noise source modelling, advanced method for numerical calculation of dynamic transfer functions.
  • Experimental techniques utilizing reactor noise.
  • The use of reactor noise for nuclear reactor diagnostics.
  • Industrial applications of reactor noise.
  • Data acquisition systems for noise analysis (hardware, software, data transfer, …)
  • Built-in plant monitoring systems utilizing noise analysis methods to perform dedicated diagnostic functions
  • Statistical data processing techniques with modern signal processing methods.
  • Application of AI (e.g. data mining, machine learning and artificial neural network) techniques to elicit process information for anomaly detection, fault diagnosis and reliable prognosis.
  • Online monitoring of NPPs and related data processing.
  • I&C for monitoring and control of new innovative reactor designs (e.g. various SMR technologies)
  • Multiplicity measurement and analysis methods for safeguards.
  • Intruder detection with online monitoring.
  • Reactor noise analysis supporting condition-based maintenance and outage reduction in NPPs.
  • Communicating the advantages of reactor noise analysis to management and decision makers.

The Registration process is performed in two steps:

Step 1 - pre-registration (see registration tab), limited to 50 participants
- Step 2 - you will receive a link to pay the registration fee

The payment (step 2) will be available around April, the fees are estimated at around 250€ covering lunches, coffee breaks and one social dinner.
